Nominaciones al SAC, por las Partes

The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) is seeking nominations for two vacancies on its Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) to be filled in June 2016. The SAC seeks internationally recognized scientists with PhDs and strong research records, specifically requesting expertise in climate sciences, ecosystem services/biodiversity, and human sciences. The selection process emphasizes geographic, gender, and ethnic balance, with a specific call for minority representation.

• Two vacancies for the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) will open in June 2016. One vacancy is held by Dr. Michele Grunauer Andrade from Ecuador, representing public health and medicine, who is eligible for renomination and reelection. A second nomination is required to fill the other vacancy.
• The SAC recommends that 2016 nominations specifically address expertise in three areas: climate sciences (including observations, simulations, and impact assessment), ecosystem services and marine and/or terrestrial biodiversity, and human sciences (including urban planners, economists, and/or social health related to epidemics and environmental factors).
• Candidates for the SAC must be internationally recognized scientists in the Americas with a PhD or equivalent experience, a strong record of research and publications, and the ability to work multidisciplinarily. The selection process considers geographic, gender, and ethnic balance, and the SAC specifically encourages nominations for minority groups.
