Report from Ad hoc Committee on the Implementation of the IAI Tripartite Governance

A report from the Ad hoc Committee on the Implementation of the IAI Tripartite Governance detailing the renewal of the Implementation Committee's term, the operational status of the Montevideo office, the wind-down of administrative tasks in Brazil, and the hiring of a director for the Science-Policy liaison office in Buenos Aires.

• The 22nd Conference of the Parties (CoP) in Mexico City renewed the term of the Implementation Committee for the Tripartite Structure of the IAI until the next CoP. The committee's membership consists of Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador (serving as Vice-chair), USA (serving as Chair), and Uruguay.
• The IAI's Montevideo office is now operational, with two assistants provided by the Uruguayan government. In Brazil, three staff members remain to finalize banking and taxation closure, support new Uruguayan staff and CoP23 organization, and maintain the capacity building program until a replacement is hired in Uruguay.
• The IAI is working with the Government of Brazil to finalize a Host Country Agreement for the Science Development Office, following meetings between the Implementation Committee Chair and representatives from the Science and Technology ministry (MCTI), the host institution (INPE), and the External Relations ministry (DCTEC - Itamaraty). Additionally, as of May 2015, a director was hired for the Science-Policy liaison office in Buenos Aires.
