Informe a la Conferencia de las Partes

The SAC reports that the IAI's interdisciplinary model, combining social and natural sciences, is producing useful results and serving as a global example. While evaluating CRN3 projects, the SAC identified a critical regional lack of infrastructure for hosting and distributing data and services. The committee recommends integrating social scientists from the start of project design and strengthening capacity development to better link science with policy in Latin America and the Caribbean.

• Specific IAI projects are contributing to regional climate and environmental data, such as the compilation of South American meteorological data since 1961 for crop models and the modeling of population vulnerability to the loss of ecosystem services due to deforestation.
