Minutas de la Decimoséptma Conferencia de las Partes (CoP) del IAI

• Member countries reported various national climate initiatives: Argentina focused on the Third National Communication and wetland impacts; Brazil on its second greenhouse gas inventory; Canada on regional climate modeling and seasonal forecasting; Colombia on sea-level rise in the Caribbean and Pacific; and Costa Rica on achieving carbon neutrality by 2021.
• The IAI has implemented tools to make scientific research more accessible, including a link to CiteUlike containing 297 peer-reviewed journal articles and 77 books or book chapters. The institute also produces brief reports and synthesis documents to translate science into language usable by policymakers.
• The CoP elected five new members to the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC): Carolina Vera, Claudia Natenzon, Ramon Pichs, Silvio Pantoja, and Harold Mooney. Selection criteria emphasized scientific excellence, geopolitical balance, and gender balance.
• The CoP elected the members of the Executive Council (CE) for the next two years: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Paraguay, and the USA.
