Minutes of the Fourteenth Meeting of the IAI Conference of the Parties (CoP)

The minutes of the Fourteenth Meeting of the IAI Conference of the Parties (CoP), held June 14-15, 2007, in Manaus, Brazil, detail the institutional review, budgetary approvals, and strategic planning of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research. • The CoP unanimously approved the renewal of the IAI Director's contract for a second term of 6 years, citing excellent performance and the need to maintain positive momentum.
• The CoP approved six projects under the Small Grants Program-Human Dimensions (SGP-HD) to improve the human dimensions component of the Collaborative Research Network II (CRN II). These projects cover topics such as air pollution health impacts in Latin American cities, vulnerability in mountains, and artisanal fisheries in the SW Atlantic.
• The CoP approved the Core Budget Request for FY 2007-2008 and maintained the same level of country contributions as the previous two years, despite some countries remaining in arrears.
