Informe de la Reunión Extraordinaria de la Conferencia de las Partes de 2024

This report documents the 2024 Extraordinary Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP) of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), held via videoconference on March 26, 2024. The primary purpose of the meeting was to review and decide upon a proposal from Panama to host the headquarters of the IAI Executive Directorate.

• Panama's proposal to host the headquarters was based on several strategic advantages, including its commitment to the IAI mission, its leadership in regional and international science-policy, and a strategic location intended to improve connectivity and engagement with the Caribbean and Central America.
• The IAI Executive Directorate requested that operations remain active in Uruguay until July 2025 to ensure a smooth transition to Panama, noting that previous headquarters relocations required a minimum of one year.
