REGLAMENTO DEL CONSEJO EJECUTIVO (CE) DEL INSTITUTO INTERAMERICANO PARA LA INVESTIGACIÓN DEL CAMBIO GLOBAL

This document outlines the rules and regulations governing the Executive Council (EC) of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI). • The Executive Council consists of a maximum of nine members elected by the Conference of the Parties for two-year terms, with a requirement for geographically balanced representation.
• The Executive Council holds two ordinary meetings annually at the same venue as the Conference of the Parties: one immediately before (pre-CoP) and one immediately after (post-CoP).
• The pre-CoP meeting focuses on financial and budget matters, including the recommendation of the Plan and Budget for the following year to the Conference of the Parties. The post-CoP meeting is primarily responsible for electing the Governing Board and considering resolutions from the Conference of the Parties.
• The Governing Board (Mesa Directiva) of the Executive Council is composed of a President, a First Vice President, and a Second Vice President, all elected for two-year terms, with the Institute's Executive Director serving as the Council Secretary.
• The Executive Council can establish various commissions, including ad hoc commissions for the session, ad hoc Advisory Commissions, a Finance and Administration Committee, and a Credentials Commission consisting of three Parties for two-year terms.
• Decisions of the Executive Council are generally made by consensus; if consensus is not reached, decisions are made by a majority vote of the Parties present. Each Party has one vote.
