Eighteenth Meeting of the IAI Executive Council (EC)

This document is an action list from the second day of the Eighteenth Meeting of the IAI Executive Council (EC), held on December 5, 2003, in San José, Costa Rica. It details approvals for funding, administrative updates, and strategic planning for the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI).

• The Executive Council (EC) approved 22 proposals for the second round of the Small Grants Program (SGP II), with a total funding amount of US$ 612,701.
• The EC requested the IAI Directorate to conduct two specific financial and administrative studies: one regarding the budgetary implications of hiring a full-time IAI Program Manager to support the Scientific Officer, and another detailing various budgetary scenarios for future years based on different contribution levels.
• The EC endorsed a proposal to use the next Conference of Parties (CoP) to mark the 10th anniversary of the 1994 Agreement of Montevideo, replacing the Science Forum with a high-level event to review a decade of IAI activities and discuss future priorities.
