Action List

The Action List from the Twelfth Meeting of the IAI Executive Council (EC) details administrative approvals, personnel nominations, and funding discussions held on December 5, 2000, in San Jose, Costa Rica.

• The Executive Council approved the initial Terms of Reference (ToR) for an External Evaluation of the IAI, developed by a Working Group consisting of representatives from Canada, Costa Rica, Uruguay, and Mexico. Member countries were given until the first week of February 2001 to submit comments to the IAI Directorate.
• The U.S. delegation offered to consider a proposal from the IAI to support a new research program with funding up to US$ 300,000, while encouraging other countries to contribute to the program budget to assist in future fundraising and U.S. contributions.
• The EC approved the locations for its next two meetings: the thirteenth meeting will be held in Panama City, Panama, during the week of July 16, 2001, and the fourteenth meeting will be held in Havana, Cuba, during the second semester of 2001.
