Report of the 48th meeting of the IAI Executive Council

The 48th meeting of the Executive Council (EC-48) of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research took place on 6 June 2019 in Brasilia, Brazil, held in conjunction with the 27th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP-27).

• The 48th meeting of the Executive Council (EC-48) was held on 6 June 2019 in Brasilia, Brazil, and was conducted back-to-back with the 27th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP-27).
• The meeting was attended by representatives from five Parties to the Agreement: Brazil, Chile, Guatemala, Panama, and the United States of America.
• The Executive Council approved the agenda by consensus and noted that CoP-27 had approved all Decisions from the 47th meeting of the Executive Council (EC-47) with minimal revisions.
• Regarding implementation strategies for Decisions from EC-47 and CoP-27, the IAI Executive Director proposed a mid-way review of actions during the intersessional period, and the United States suggested a one-hour teleconference for the second EC meeting, an option the Executive Director will explore.
