This guide establishes the rules and procedures for the IAI's Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee, detailing its composition, leadership, and its mandate to oversee the Gender, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy and establish an advisory committee for Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities.

• The EDI Committee is composed of members from the Science and Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC), the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), and nominated focal points. Additional nominations may come from the IAI Directorate and the IAI Science, Technology, and Policy Fellowship Program (STeP), including key stakeholders. The committee must have at least three members, with no maximum limit.
• The EDI Committee is mandated to update, monitor, and guide the implementation of the Gender, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy for IAI Scientific Projects and Capacity Development Activities during intersessional periods, reporting progress to the Conference of the Parties. Additionally, the EDI Committee is responsible for establishing an Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities Advisory Committee (IP&LC-AC) to provide recommendations on the IAI's annual program, Strategic Plan, and Scientific Agenda.
