JOINT DECLARATION OF INTENT BETWEEN THE UNITED NATIONS REPRESENTED BY THE THE DEVELOPMENT COORDINATION OFFICE FOR LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN (DCO LAC) AND THE INTER-AMERICAN INSTITUTE FOR GLOBAL CHANGE RESEARCH (IAD) (“Partner”) CONCERNING COOPERATION IN MEETING THE 2030 AGENDA FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN

The United Nations (via DCO LAC) and the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAD) signed a non-binding Declaration of Intent on 6 July 2023 to cooperate on sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean. The partnership focuses on the co-production of transdisciplinary science regarding global change, specifically the links between climate, environment, and health, to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The signatories intend to collaborate on data analysis, innovation, digital transformation, strategic foresight, and behavioral science, with specific activities to be negotiated in future legally binding agreements.
