32nd Meeting of the IAI Executive Council Action list

The action list from the 32nd Meeting of the IAI Executive Council, held in June 2011 in Asuncion, Paraguay, details administrative approvals, the establishment of committees to determine the future location of the IAI Directorate, and efforts to strengthen member relations and visibility.

• The Executive Council (EC) approved the charter for the Financial and Administrative Committee, which includes members from Brazil, Canada, the US, and the IAI Financial and Administrative Director as an ex-officio member.
• The EC approved Terms of Reference for an Ad Hoc Host Country Committee to assist in preparations for a Special Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP) scheduled for mid-February 2012 in Washington DC, United States, to decide on the future location of the IAI Directorate.
• The Ad Hoc Host Country Committee consists of Brazil, Canada, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Paraguay, and the U.S., with the Director as an ex-officio member. If a member party submits an offer to host the Directorate, they must withdraw by November 15, at which point Guatemala will join the committee.
• The EC established a working group to draft an implementation plan for its Strategic Plan, comprising the USA, Canada, Dominican Republic, the EC Chair, and the IAI Director as an ex-officio member, with consultation from the SAC.
• To improve member relations and visibility, Argentina offered to contact Venezuela, the USA offered to contact Mexico, and Colombia offered to assist in arranging a side event for the IAI at the UNFCCC CoP.
