Action list

This action list details the decisions made during the 31st Meeting of the IAI Executive Council (EC) held on June 14, 2011, in Asuncion, Paraguay. The EC approved administrative items and recommended several financial and strategic matters for approval by the Conference of the Parties (CoP), including the 2011-2012 Core Budget, Country Contributions, and the Strategic Plan.

• The Executive Council (EC) established a committee to recommend candidates for the election of IAI Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) members, consisting of the SAC Chair and representatives from Brazil, Canada, and the USA. This committee is tasked with reporting its findings to the Conference of the Parties (CoP) during the first morning session.
• The EC recommended several financial and strategic items for CoP approval, specifically the Core Budget request for 2011-2012, the unchanged level of Country Contributions for 2011-2012, the Financial Report and Financial Statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2011, and the Strategic Plan.
• The EC proposed a process to determine the host country for the Directorate, requesting that the CoP empower the EC to manage interactions with member countries. This includes forming a committee to collect information for country proposals by a deadline of October 15, 2011, and requesting a special CoP meeting on or shortly after February 15, 2012, to select the host country.
