Action list

The action list from the 30th Meeting of the IAI Executive Council, held on 11 June 2010 in Brasilia, Brazil, outlines administrative decisions, diplomatic outreach strategies to strengthen member country relations, and the formation of a group to develop a strategic plan.

• The Executive Council (EC) elected its Bureau by acclamation, appointing Paul Filmer from the USA as Chair, Carlos Ereño from Argentina as First Vice-chair, and Ricardo Lozano from Colombia as Second Vice-chair.
• EC members agreed to identify contact points within UNFCC national delegations to communicate IAI activities, with the representative from Colombia leading the organization of a potential informal meeting at the UNFCC in Cancun.
• To strengthen relations with member countries, Argentina will attempt to contact Uruguay, Mexico will contact Guatemala, and the USA will use diplomatic channels to engage both active and less participative countries.
• A group consisting of the IAI Director, the EC Chair, and named individuals from the SAC will compile material for a strategic plan. This document is to be distributed to the EC and Venezuela in August for input, with the final plan intended for approval at the next CoP.
• Future EC meeting agendas will include reports on member actions regarding the re-engagement of member countries, with Brazil tasked to report on the Directorate's past efforts at the next meeting.
