Action list

The action list from the 27th Meeting of the IAI Executive Council (EC) held in Bogota, Colombia, on 18 May 2009, details administrative decisions, budget and program reviews, and proposed amendments to the Council's rules to be forwarded to the Conference of Parties (CoP).

• The Executive Council (EC) identified several items to be elevated to the Conference of Parties (CoP) for approval or notification, including the Auditor’s Report of Financial Statements for the years ending June 30, 2007 and 2008, the Core Budget request and Country Contribution for 2009-10, and the Annual Program for 2009-2010.
• The EC proposed specific amendments to the Rules of the Executive Council across four chapters: Meetings, The Executive Council Bureau, Procedures and Debates, and Voting. Key changes include defining the Bureau's composition (Chair, first and second vice chair, and the Director as Secretary) and establishing voting procedures where decisions are normally made by consensus, or by a majority vote of attending Parties if consensus is not reached.
• The EC established a committee to recommend candidates for the election of IAI SAC members, consisting of the SAC Vice-chair, the Assistant Director for Capacity Building, and representatives from Colombia, Mexico, Paraguay, and Venezuela. The committee recommended Juan Valdes as a candidate.
• The EC requested that the Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) increase its efforts in preparing the final strategic planning document and suggested the creation of a dedicated space on the Twiki site for the preparation and modification of said document.
