• The eighth meeting of the Executive Council is tentatively scheduled for November 1998 in Montevideo, Uruguay, following an offer from the delegate of Uruguay to host.
• The Chair of the EC Communications Task Force noted a lack of financial resources to hire staff for communications, information, and outreach, requesting that member countries consider seconding an individual as an in-kind contribution.
