This document is a list of actions and decisions from the Thirteenth Meeting of the Executive Council (EC) of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), held on July 17-18, 2001, in Panama City, Panama. The meeting focused on administrative governance, the appointment of scientific advisors, financial reporting, and the preparation of an external evaluation of the institute.

• The EC established an ad hoc committee, consisting of Mary Kayano, Barbara Garea, Maria Donoso, and Paul Filmer, to analyze and propose how the IAI should handle future delays in voluntary contributions from member countries.
• The EC approved a synthesis analysis of the results of the Initial Scientific Program (ISP) to be conducted upon its conclusion in 2001 using remaining program funds.
