Aprobada Conferencia de las Partes (CoP) del IAI Novena reunión

This document records the decisions made during the ninth meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP) of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), held in São José dos Campos, Brazil, on June 27-28, 2002.

• The CoP established the leadership for its ninth meeting, electing Carlos Américo Pacheco of Brazil as President, Danilo López of Venezuela as First Vice President, and Michel Béland of Canada as Second Vice President.
• The CoP approved several administrative and financial items, including the IAI's Financial Statement and Auditors' Report for Fiscal Year 2000/2001, the Basic Budget Request for Fiscal Year 2002/2003, and the Annual Program for 2002/2003. Additionally, it approved the 'Suspension and Termination Procedures for IAI Projects' and funded 16 projects rated as 'good,' 'very good,' and 'excellent' under the IAI Small Grants Program (SGP).
• The CoP appointed Dr. Gustavo Necco of Argentina as the new Executive Director of the IAI for a three-year term and selected the Executive Council members for the period of July 2002 to June 2004, consisting of Brazil, Canada, Argentina, USA, Cuba, Costa Rica, Panama, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
