Decisions of the 28th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research

The decisions of the 28th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP) to the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research, held on 19 August 2020, cover budget approvals, administrative mandates, and the invitation of a new associate.

• The Conference of the Parties approved the Core Budget for the 2020-2021 fiscal year and the preliminary budget request for the 2021-2023 fiscal years.
• The CoP issued several administrative directives: the Executive Council must conduct annual performance evaluations of the Executive Director, and the IAI Directorate must develop a gender policy and a whistleblower mechanism for the employee handbook by the 29th CoP meeting.
• The Conference of the Parties invited Mitacs, located in Canada, to become an Associate of the Institute and tasked the IAI Directorate with drafting the invitation and an Agreement of Association.
