These include personal inviolability, immunity from criminal, civil, and administrative jurisdiction, and exemptions from immigration restrictions and national service obligations.
• All IAI staff, regardless of nationality, possess immunity from legal process for words spoken or written and acts performed in their official capacity, a protection that continues after their employment ends.
• The Brazilian government provides specific administrative and technical support to the IAI, including the provision of three trilingual secretaries and one office clerk at government expense, as well as access to a 50-person auditorium and a 60-person seminar room.
