Decisions of the 26th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research

• The IAI Directorate was directed to advance its scientific agenda by developing synthesis and dissemination products for the final phase of the CRN3 program and continuing the CONICET-IAI research program with Argentina's CONICET. The Directorate is also tasked with gathering information on national priorities regarding science and science-policy, specifically within international frameworks like the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to inform a fourth round of Collaborative Research Networks (CRN4).
• Capacity building initiatives for professionals in the Americas include the development of a new Seed Grant Program for 2019-2020 associated with Professional Development Seminars, the creation of an IAI Science and Technology Policy Fellowships Program, and the IAI Research Internship Program.
• The IAI aims to strengthen international cooperation and communication, including initiating a Memorandum of Understanding with the Organization of American States. It also seeks to facilitate collaboration with national focal points for the CBD, UNFCCC, and the UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) to integrate scientific project information into national reporting.
