Decisiones de la 32.a Reunión de la Conferencia de las Partes del Instituto Interamericano para la Investigación del Cambio Global

• The Conference of the Parties has instructed the Executive Directorate to work toward creating two advisory committees: one for representatives of indigenous peoples and another for representatives of local communities, based on consultations with leaders of these communities.
• The IAI is transitioning its headquarters from Uruguay to Panama. Parties were invited to request an extension of the IAI's operation in Uruguay until July 31, 2025, and to establish a Transition Committee to manage the move to Panama to ensure operational continuity for the IAI and the Belmont Forum.
• The IAI has been directed to establish specific research and training programs on the nexus between climate, environment, and health (in partnership with the Pan American Health Organization) and the nexus between oceans, islands, and coastal systems (aligned with the UN Decade of Ocean Science).
• The IAI is tasked with collaborating with Parties during multilateral international science and policy meetings, such as the UNFCCC COP, the CBD COP, and the UN General Assembly Science Summit, to increase the visibility and participation of regional scientists.
• The IAI has adopted formal procedures for granting Observer Status and a provision to withdraw Associate Status after three years of inactivity.
