CONVENIO MARCO DE COOPERACIÓN INTERINSTITUCIONAL ENTRE EL INSTITUTO INTERAMERICANO PARA LA INVESTIGACIÓN DEL CAMBIO GLOBAL (IAI) Y EL CONSEJO NACIONAL DE CIENCIA, TECNOLOGÍA E INNOVACIÓN TECNOLÓGICA (CONCYTEC)

This document is a Framework Cooperation Agreement signed on March 20, 2020, between the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) and the National Council for Science, Technology and Technological Innovation (CONCYTEC) of Peru. The agreement establishes a formal structure for collaboration to enhance regional and national synergies in global change research across the Americas.

• The primary objective of the agreement is to create a reference framework for identifying collaboration areas, conducting joint activities, and exchanging services to improve regional and national synergies regarding global change research in the Americas.
• The parties commit to cooperating on human and institutional capacity building for global environmental change and its impacts on human and ecosystem wellbeing in the Americas. Specific collaborative activities include establishing scientific programs and research networks, joint funding and calls for proposals, organizing scientific workshops, promoting open science and open data, and connecting Peruvian scientists with international global change initiatives.
• The agreement is a non-financial framework; it does not create immediate expenses or financial obligations for either party. Any activities requiring monetary costs must be defined in separate, specific agreements.
• The agreement has a duration of five years from the date of the final signature. Intellectual property rights resulting from the cooperation will be shared between the parties in proportion to their respective contributions.
