Lista de Acciones Día 2: Junio 30

This document is a list of action items from the second day of the nineteenth meeting of the Executive Council (CE) of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), held on June 30, 2004, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

• The Executive Council (CE) approved several administrative and financial measures to be elevated to the Conference of Parties (CoP), including the Annual Program, a suggested principles document regarding in-kind contributions, and the 'Option 2' for the search process for the IAI Executive Director. Additionally, the CE approved a reduction in the frequency of the IAI Newsletter from four to three issues per year for the current year.
• Regarding financial management, the CE approved the Alternative Basic Budget Request for Fiscal Year 2004/2005 and recommended maintaining current Member Country Contribution values for the 2004/2005 period. The Financial Advisory Committee (FAC) was tasked with studying alternative calculation methods for country contributions and analyzing the Institute's efficiency in fund administration.
• The CE addressed specific institutional and diplomatic issues, including a proposal from the Brazilian delegate to accept CPTEC/INPE as an Affiliated Institution and a request for Canada and the USA to write to high-level Brazilian authorities to resolve local staff salary issues. Furthermore, the CE recommended a final attempt to recover funds from project CRN 038 before pursuing legal action against CATHALAC.
