Proposals were categorized as Fundable (F), Not Fundable (N), for Discussion (D), or as 'Seed' projects (SEMILLERO) for those with strong components that did not fit CRN2.
• The SAC provided specific recommendations for several CRN2 proposals, highlighting project CRN2-060 as a standard for Human Dimensions and CRN2-017 as a standard for urbanization. Other recommendations included requesting budget clarifications for CRN2-021 and CRN2-015, and suggesting that CRN2-050 receive assistance for policy contribution and dissemination in the Caribbean.
• To manage funds, the SAC requested a strategic 10% budget cut across projects, to be managed by the Executive Director. Additionally, the SAC noted a thematic imbalance in proposals and recommended that 'Seed' funds be directed toward the least represented themes (themes 3 and 4 of the Scientific Agenda).
