Informe del Programa CRN II (proceso de evaluación)

This report, presented by IAI Scientific Officer Gerhard Breulmann, details the evaluation process for the CRN II Program, outlining the progression from pre-proposals to final selection and the specific criteria used for assessment.

• The CRN II proposal process began with 93 pre-proposals, from which the IAI Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) recommended 34 for full proposals. By the March 23, 2005 deadline, 37 final proposals were received.
• Final proposals underwent a three-step review process consisting of mail evaluation (conducted from April to mid-July 2005), an expert panel evaluation (July 20-22, 2005), and a SAC evaluation (July 26-28, 2005).
• Evaluation criteria for the CRN II included scientific excellence, technical soundness, relevance to the IAI Scientific Agenda, research gaps, policy relevance, multinational and multidisciplinary collaboration, integration of social and natural sciences, capacity development potential, budget appropriateness, and in-kind contributions. The SAC also considered geographic balance among IAI member countries and thematic distribution across the IAI Scientific Agenda's four main themes.
