Minutes of the Twenty-Sixth Meeting of the IAI Executive Council (EC)

• A Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) is working to develop a new Strategic Plan by the end of 2009 to guide the IAI's science and programmatic decisions for the next 5 to 10 years, shifting the institute from a purely science-oriented body to one focused on scientifically informed policy.
• The Executive Council recommended a full review of the Rules of Procedure for the EC and the CoP and proposed that invitations to CoP meetings be sent five months in advance to improve attendance and quorum.
• The IAI has proposed a slate of four candidates for election to the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC): Frank Muller-Karger, Walter Baethgen, Luis Mata, and Telma Castro.
