This includes staff travel, the Director's special fund, capital equipment budgets, and support for EC Working Groups and non-IAI staff attending scientific meetings.
• The Committee and the Financial and Administrative Working Group (FAWG) recommend that country representatives remain responsible for their own travel expenses to EC and CoP meetings to avoid conflicts of interest, as these delegates vote on the core budget they would be drawing from.
• If the IAI decides to fund delegate travel despite the Committee's recommendation, the Committee strongly suggests establishing a separate trust fund for this purpose, administered outside the core budget, with regular reporting on the specific travelers supported.
• The Committee recommends that membership of the Standing Committee on Rules and Procedures remain open to all IAI members, with individuals designated by member countries in response to periodic EC calls and serving in their individual capacities as experts.
