El juego TD

The TD Game is a storytelling-based pedagogical tool used in workshops to help participants understand transdisciplinary (TD) practices, identify challenges and opportunities, and develop strategies for new projects. It is adaptable for both beginners and experienced TD professionals and was developed through collaborative inputs from the STeP Fellows Conference, the SRI Congress, and Belmont Forum researchers.

• The TD Game serves as a pedagogical tool and dynamic for collective discussion on transdisciplinarity, suitable for university teachers, project coordinators, or networking facilitators. It is designed to be adaptable for groups regardless of whether they are new to or already familiar with the transdisciplinary approach.
• For participants, the game aims to facilitate the recognition of their own professional experience in TD, the identification of challenges and opportunities in knowledge co-production, and the empowerment of researchers by framing the integration of non-academic knowledge as transdisciplinary science.
• The tool has different applications based on the group's expertise: for beginners, it builds a deeper understanding of the TD approach using previous experiences; for experienced groups, it allows for reflection on common challenges to develop concrete strategies for the success of new technological development projects.
• The game was developed by Laila Sandroni and Fany Ramos Quispe, incorporating inputs from the 2022 STeP Fellows Conference, the June 2022 SRI Congress, and an August 2022 survey of Belmont Forum principal investigators. It was further refined through workshops at the 2023 AAAS conference and the 2023 SRI Congress, with final editing by Ismet Mamnoon for a June 2023 workshop in Helsinki.
