Challenges of cross-border collaboration: knowledge networks for innovation and sustainability in the Global South

The research examines three US-Argentina climate variability projects to highlight how connectivity and institutional support influence the production of usable knowledge among diverse stakeholders.

• The authors argue that connectivity is a critical factor that can either facilitate or hinder the creation of high-quality, usable knowledge, particularly in projects involving participants from different nationalities and backgrounds who must establish shared principles and goals.
• Institutional monitoring and reflection are necessary for entities such as funding agencies, universities, and NGOs, as these organizations are often in the early stages of engaging in complex cross-border collaborations.
