GreenLatinos Statement on the President Biden’s New Climate Executive Actions

GreenLatinos welcomes President Biden's climate executive actions as a necessary shift from previous policies, noting that climate change threatens national security and public health. The organization advocates for environmental justice to be central to climate action, specifically to protect the health and livelihoods of Latino communities.

• GreenLatinos views President Biden's executive actions as a positive step toward restoring science-based policy, protecting public lands and oceans, and re-establishing international climate leadership after four years of destructive policies.
• The organization asserts that climate change is an immediate threat to public health and national security, and argues that environmental justice must be a primary consideration in all climate actions.
• GreenLatinos highlights that Latino communities are disproportionately affected by climate change in terms of their families, livelihoods, and health.
