REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL APPOINTMENT OF A PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ORGANISATION (PDO) TO PROVIDE PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT SERVICES

GreenCape issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) on June 19, 2020, to appoint a Product Development Organisation (PDO) to support the Western Cape Industrial Symbiosis Programme (WISP). • GreenCape is seeking a Product Development Organisation (PDO) to transform unwanted production materials into viable products or value chains that can be integrated into the existing production lines of businesses in Cape Town.
• The project is a pilot initiative stemming from a Material Flow Analysis (MFA) conducted by the Western Cape Industrial Symbiosis Programme (WISP) in the Atlantis Industrial Area, which identified critical nodes for improving resource efficiency and waste management.
• The project targets the manufacturing sector, specifically focusing on by-products or waste materials that are generated consistently and in large, homogenous quantities across multiple sectors.
• The project is subject to strict constraints, including a budget limit of R300,000 and a three-month timeline from contract signing and inception note acceptance, anticipated to run from July to the end of September 2020.
