PowerUp Platform: Aligning Skills for a Sustainable Future

The PowerUp Platform is a digital skills facilitation hub designed to bridge the gap between the skills required by South Africa's renewable energy industry and the training provided by post-school education and training (PSET) institutions.

• The PowerUp Platform serves as a digital facilitation hub connecting industry leaders, PSET institutions, industry associations, SETAs, and social compact partners to address critical skills gaps and create employment pathways within the renewable energy value chain.
• The platform is built on six core objectives: acting as a bridge between industry and PSET institutions for training alignment, highlighting required occupational skills, identifying and addressing competency gaps via recognised programs, facilitating SETA funding for training and credentials, providing workplace training for students, and connecting youth and transitioning workers to jobs and training.
