- Paper sludge, a fibrous material with high water content from paper and cardboard manufacturers, is currently fully utilized by clay brick manufacturers, with demand exceeding supply. This leaves little opportunity for further valorization unless new, higher-value uses are developed.
- Municipal green waste (tree off-cuts, leaves, and grass clippings) is primarily managed through composting. Reliance Compost holds the largest share of this market due to its logistics fleet and large-scale composting facility on the outskirts of the City of Cape Town.
- The Toronto Group has successfully secured funding for IAV beneficiation by ensuring security of supply through land procurement near clearing operations and securing demand via the export of charcoal to Europe.
