ASEZ-CSN ELECTION APPEALS PROCESS

This guide outlines the formal appeals process for stakeholders who disagree with the election outcomes of the Atlantis SEZ Community Stakeholder Network (ASEZ-CSN).

• Eligibility to submit an appeal is restricted to residents of the Atlantis community specifically within Wards 29 and 32; third-party appeals are not permitted.
• Appeals are only considered legitimate if they are based on the violation of mandates or principles by the Oversight Committee.
• The appeals process involves a multi-tiered review: the Oversight Committee and GreenCape assess the appeal and determine outcomes, which are then handed to an Electoral Appeal Committee for verification. The Electoral Appeal Committee, composed of representatives from local, provincial, and national government, makes the final decision.
• Appeals must be submitted via a GreenCape form within seven days of the election report release, with a specific deadline of 5pm on 2 April 2019. GreenCape must acknowledge receipt within 24 hours and provide a response from the Appeals Committee within 21 calendar days of the submission closure date.
