Nigeria Green Bond Programme

The Nigeria Green Bond Programme, running from January 2018 to March 2023, aimed to increase the use of green bonds to finance green projects and assets in Nigeria by developing market guidelines, a pipeline of investments, and a pool of licensed verifiers.

• Between January 2018 and March 2023, the programme facilitated the issuance of ₦32.83 billion in Corporate Green Bonds and ₦25.69 billion in Sovereign Green Bonds.
• The programme's operational outcomes included holding 10 capacity building sessions, training one licensed verifier, supporting five sovereign and corporate issuers with verification and impact reporting, and reaching 928 capital markets beneficiaries.
