A scoping study on developing a financing offer for the green economy in Morocco

This document outlines a scoping study (2022-2024) aimed at analyzing the green finance gap in Morocco and developing financial instruments to support green SMEs.

• The scoping study aims to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the green finance gap in Morocco and determine the financial instruments and structures necessary to support SMEs and emerging green finance projects.
• A feasibility analysis is currently underway to evaluate the needs for and offer of green finance instruments across sectoral value chains specifically targeting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Morocco.
• Following the completion of the feasibility analysis, the project plans to develop the initial framework for a new instrument intended to partially address the unmet demand for green SME financing in Morocco.
