Friends of the Earth International condemns the Israeli government's plans to demolish the Palestinian Bedouin village of Khan al Ahmar in the occupied West Bank, asserting that such actions violate international law.

• Israeli forces are attempting to demolish the Bedouin village of Khan al Ahmar in the occupied West Bank, involving the forced displacement of Palestinian residents and attacks on those resisting. Reports indicate 35 people were injured, four were hospitalized, and nine individuals were arrested.
• Khan al Ahmar is located in Area C of the West Bank within the E1 settlement block, positioned between the Israeli settlement of Ma’ale Adumim and its suburb Kfar Adumin. • The residents of Khan al Ahmar, members of the Jahalin Bedouin tribe, were forcibly relocated there in 1951 from Tel Ared in the Negev desert. The land they occupied was rented from a Palestinian owner from Anata until it was expropriated and declared state or fiscal land in 1975, later designated as an industrial zone for the Ma’ale Adumim settlement.
• The community suffers from severe lacks of basic infrastructure, including electricity, sanitation, and adequate roads, as well as deficiencies in health, education, and social welfare services. On March 5, 2017, a demolition order was issued for all buildings in the village, including the school, mosque, clinic, and stables, requiring residents to demolish them within one week.
• Friends of the Earth International views the demolition of Khan al Ahmar and the broader Israeli settlement policy—including forced transfers, evictions, and land confiscation—as violations of international law and international humanitarian law.
