General meeting decision on membership of Amici della Terra/ Friends of the Earth Italy

The Friends of the Earth International (FoEI) Biennial General Meeting decided in October 2014 to discontinue the membership of Amici della Terra/Friends of the Earth Italy due to diverging visions of environmental justice.

• In October 2014, during the Biennial General Meeting (BGM) in Kandy, Sri Lanka, Friends of the Earth International (FoEI) decided to end the membership of Amici della Terra following an evaluation and discussion process.
• The decision to terminate the membership was based on the fact that the mission and vision of Amici della Terra and the federation's shared vision of environmental justice had diverged significantly over thirty-six years of membership, making the membership untenable.
• The decision took immediate effect in October 2014, resulting in Friends of the Earth International having no member group in Italy.
