Stop the harassment of Berta Zúñiga Cáceres and COPINH!

On 12 December 2017, Friends of the Earth Latin America & Caribbean (ATALC) condemned the detention of Berta Zúñiga, coordinator of COPINH, and other members by military personnel in Honduras. The organization describes this as an act of harassment occurring within a broader context of police and military repression following the national elections on 26 November 2017. ATALC calls for international solidarity and permanent monitoring of the situation facing Honduran social activists under the regime of Juan Orlando Hernandez.

• On 12 December 2017, Berta Zúñiga, coordinator of the Civic Council of Popular and Indigenous Organizations of Honduras (COPINH), and other members were stopped and held in custody by military personnel, which ATALC characterizes as a "blatant act of harassment".
