Desmantelar patriarcado (también) construyendo soberanía alimentaria

A position paper by Friends of the Earth International arguing that achieving food sovereignty requires dismantling patriarchy and strengthening women as political subjects, specifically through feminist policies and agroecology.

• There are 1.6 billion women farmers globally who produce 50% of the world's food, yet they own only 2% of the land and face the highest risks of hunger and malnutrition.
• Friends of the Earth International asserts that building Food Sovereignty requires dismantling patriarchy, strengthening women as political subjects, and promoting agroecology based on egalitarian power relations and environmentally harmless production.
• The organization calls for feminist-perspective policies and practices for Food Sovereignty, including fair remuneration for women's work in homes, factories, and on the land; equal rights to access seeds, water, markets, and land; and the sharing of care work between the State, men, and women.
