Propuestas por la Campaña Mundial para Reclamar la Soberanía de los Pueblos, Desmantelar el Poder Corporativo y Poner Fin a la Impunidad

This statement by Friends of the Earth International, on behalf of the Global Campaign to Dismantle Corporate Power and End Impunity, supports the creation of a legally binding international instrument to regulate transnational corporations (TNCs) and protect human rights.

• In June 2014, the Human Rights Council adopted resolution 26/9, which aims to create a legally binding international instrument regarding transnational corporations (TNCs) and other businesses in relation to human rights. This instrument is intended to end impunity for human rights violations by TNCs, specifically in the Global South, and ensure victims have access to justice.
• The document presents eight proposals concerning the nature, form, scope, and content of the future binding international instrument. These proposals are submitted by the Global Campaign to Dismantle Corporate Power and End Impunity, a network comprising over 200 social movements, networks, organizations, and representatives of victims and affected communities globally.
