Grave represión contra pueblo hondureño en resistencia a la Dictadura y el fraude electoral

• Amigos de la Tierra América Latina y el Caribe (ATALC) reports widespread repression by Honduran police and military forces against citizens protesting electoral fraud and the reelection of President Juan Orlando Hernández, specifically noting the deaths of a child in the El Pedregal neighborhood of Tegucigalpa and an adult in La Ceiba, Atlántida.
• ATALC calls upon the international community to pressure the Honduran government to ensure human rights and civil liberties, while urging the Honduran Supreme Electoral Tribunal to withhold the announcement of an election winner until a physical, act-by-act count is conducted under international supervision.
• The organization asserts that Juan Orlando Hernández is attempting to maintain power through the support of transnational capital and United States military intervention in Honduras.
