Honduran students on trial for peaceful protest

Friends of the Earth International is calling for the release of students from the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH), including Yunior Oyuela of Movimiento Madre Tierra/Friends of the Earth Honduras, who faced trial on September 25, 2017, for peaceful protest.

• Students from the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH), including Yunior Oyuela of Movimiento Madre Tierra/Friends of the Earth Honduras, were scheduled for trial on Monday 25 September for exercising their right to peaceful protest.
• Friends of the Earth International has sent letters of repudiation to the Honduran Government and various embassies to demand an end to the prosecution and the full freedom of the students and other individuals persecuted for defending territories and the commons.
