A statement by Friends of the Earth Latin America and the Caribbean (ATALC) expressing solidarity with Honduran social activists and indigenous organizations facing criminalization and land dispossession.

• Friends of the Earth Latin America and the Caribbean (ATALC) reports the criminalization of at least four members of the Organización Fraternal Negra Hondureña (OFRANEH), following a communication from the Mouvement Pour la Terre Mère –Amigos de la Tierra Honduras– dated June 19.
• ATALC expresses concern over the dispossession of Garífuna peoples' lands in Guadalupe to benefit foreign capital, noting that members of OFRANEH have been accused of appropriating land that is part of a community title granted to the Guadalupe community.
• The document highlights reports from the Consejo Cívico de Organizaciones Populares e Indígenas de Honduras (COPINH) regarding the vulnerability of the Lenca people of Río Blanco, who face threats and the presence of armed men while defending their territories.
