Court hearing of the accused of Berta Cáceres’ murder in Honduras

Following a court hearing on June 7 in Tegucigalpa, ATALC and Friends of the Earth International call for the identification of the interests and intellectual perpetrators behind the March 2016 murder of Berta Cáceres to end impunity for crimes against indigenous and peasant communities in Honduras.

• ATALC and FoEI argue that identifying the interests behind the murder of Berta Cáceres is essential to prevent further persecution, criminalization, and killing of Honduran peasant and indigenous communities defending their territories.
• The organizations demand the identification of both actual and intellectual perpetrators of the March 2016 crime to combat impunity in Honduras and across other Latin American and Mesoamerican countries.
