Friends of the Earth International’s proposal for the new Global Biodiversity Framework

Friends of the Earth International provides policy recommendations and targets for the post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) to be determined at the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) COP15 meeting in December 2022.

• The UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) is a legally binding agreement whose 2011-2020 framework for action, consisting of 20 "Aichi targets," was not achieved.
• Parties to the CBD are scheduled to meet in Montreal, Canada, in December 2022 for COP15 to establish the post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF).
• Friends of the Earth International, contributing to a dedicated open-ended working group and collaborating with the CBD Alliance, has developed a list of 'Dos and Don’ts' and specific policy recommendations and targets for COP15.
