Solidaridad Internacionalista con el Pueblo Guaraní Kaiowá

Friends of the Earth International issued a statement denouncing the 'Masacre de Guapoy', an illegal eviction of the Guaraní Kaiowá people in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, on June 24, 2022, carried out by the Military Police.

• On June 24, 2022, the Military Police of Mato Grosso do Sul, acting under orders from the Secretary of Public Security, conducted an illegal 12-hour eviction operation in the tekoha Guapoy Mirin Tujury territory. The operation involved hundreds of police officers, various vehicles, and a helicopter, resulting in one death and at least 10 injuries, including a child shot in the abdomen with a 5.56 rifle, a weapon authorized for use only by the Brazilian Army.
