NO ES CERO: Cómo las metas de emisiones “cero neto” encubren la inacción frente al cambio climático

• Net zero plans often rely on carbon removal technologies and tree plantations, such as Bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS), but the planet lacks sufficient land to support these projects at the scale proposed by governments and corporations. This reliance allows greenhouse gas emissions to continue increasing while waiting for future carbon removal.
• The report characterizes many net zero targets as a form of "carbon colonialism" because they shift the burden of carbon capture to lands and plantations in the Global South, despite those regions contributing little to the climate crisis. Furthermore, targets set for distant dates, such as 2050, are described as insufficient and too late.
